Step 1: Finding Your Voice

  • Begin talking about your emotion.
Self-introspection (looking inward and dissecting how you feel,) is the first step to finding your voice. Then, voicing those emotions will help relieve the inner pressure of keeping everything inside.
  • Find constructive ways to share your problems
Be on the lookout for people you trust whom you feel comfortable sharing your problems and emotions with. This may be a parent, friend, advisor, religious leader, or even a doctor.

  • Learn to listen
Communication is not just about what YOU have to say, it's also about the voice of others. Be conscious of how intently you listen to others, and actively attempt to connect with what they say.
